Are Imports Better Than American Cars?

infinity g.jpgYes, Yes, and Yes! You know those Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans are superior...just change the oil, the tires, and get a few car washes and they run forever. I have a Honda Odyssey and despite the challenges that I have had with it, I'm satisfied.

Could the Big 3 be in trouble due to poor design, manufactiring, and inspiration? Other than a CTS, I can't see spending $30 or $40 K on a domestic. Should we honor uninspired design and engineering (ooohh, a nasty oxymoron) with a bail out? No.

The Big 3 should merge with HTN (see first sentence) and call it a day. I would love to drive a Chevy Accord, a Toyota Escalade, a Ford Altima, or the dream car, a Lincoln Lexus L846. Just dreamin...

Helicopter Tragedy in Aurora

I am saddened by the tragedy in Aurora. Four people were killed including a 1 year old patient, an EMT, a nurse, and the pilot. Helicopters are incredible vehicles that save lives everyday, but occasionally, tragedy strikes.

My condolences to the families.

Parking in Chicago: Stick 'Em Up!

I am being robbed, by a parking stub and ticket. Chicago, I used to love you but...parking charges are damaging our relationship. Just to get a bite to eat, I'm charged $25 and taxes on top of the parking fees - you're killin' a brother.

I hear that your mayor is having a wicked shortful in the budget and that people are being asked to stay home for a few days: a sabbatical without pay. Chicago, you're trying too hard to be like New York, L.A., and Pheonix. Taxes, tolls, carpools, fees, excise, surcharge, meters, and a mayor who can't balance a budget.

Lay some people off, get a full day's work from everyone, and we'll see that a city can operate without raising fees. I'm fed up Chicago. I'll visit you in my flying saucer, it doesn't have a windshield wiper blade for you to leave a ticket and I can just hover on top of the parking garage and pay nothing.

One Flight Per Plane - Free!

What gas price would it take for you to change your driving habits? Do you have any suggestions for alternative commuting? Do airline prices have an effect on you? What is the cheapest price online from L.A. to Chicago?

We had a good "live" show today with travel agent, Fran Moeckler, and transportation expert, Professor Aaron Gellman. I should have told both guests that $8 per gallon would be the back breaking price for Illinois residents. This would exceed the new minimum wage of $7.75 per hour. Driving to work for these workers would not be feasible, maybe impossible.

Airlines should have lottery flights, making one customer's flight (per plane) a free flight. What do you think?

Thanks for the calls Chicago...GML
