A teeter totter (seesaw) is a funny kind of outdoor toy. One person gets to go up and the other must descend. So goes the playground of Illinois politics: Roland Burris ascends while Gov. Rod goes down. Are we too hard on Blagojevich? Should he be impeached based on wire taps, so-called conspiracy speak, and rumor? Tonight on GML we will discuss, "Are impeachment hearings unfair without adequate evidence?" Leave your thoughts on my voicemail at 630-574-3232 and we may play your voice on the air tonight.

Garrard, it is not a complicated process. As I stated previously, you are innocent until proven guilty.
Don't get me wrong. If you are convicted of a crime, of course you should, and will suffer the consequences. But when vultures are lurking above prior to the kill, a cloud must be created to obscure the vision.

Of course Blagojevich is innocent until proven guilty. However, the obvious problem is that if he is guilty, we no longer want him in office and we do not want him to be making decisions that we will either have to live with or spend valuable time reversing later. We need an intermediate step. Other systems, such as police and teachers, are set up such that there is a paid leave or temporary change of duties until it is clear whether or not the person is guilty of the allegations.

Why are people in here talking about Blago is innocent until proven guilty.
A criminal conviction and impeachment are two separate processes with 2 separate decisions. He doesn't have to be convicted to be impeached. HE has to show that he is unworthy to hold his office. Raise your hand if you want your elected officials even considering how to use the sale of a political office to profit his family? He's on tape saying such and the impeachment panel read the sworn affidavits. They are ready to roll.
Now, in criminal court...maybe Blago says he was just bluffing, and talking big, and never acted or intended to act on that swagger and maybe he argues it's not a crime until there's an actual transaction. And maybe he proves there was no transaction.
So what. He is of the character to even consider and discuss the possibility of a sale. Impeach him. He doesn't have the character to hold public office where trust and proper respect for government power is of the highest value.

You know, it is a good point that the U.S. Attorney General wants more time which suggest that maybe he doesn't have all he needs for a water tight case.
Yeah, we would all like to hear Blago's wife in the background yelling about her cut in the deal, it would be good entertainment.
This may be a giant Madigan trap!
The longer it goes on the more suspicious it looks.
Maybe he did nothing wrong after all.

This appointment stinks to high heaven. I have two huge questions; One) Why did Blago's criminal Defense Attorney, Sam Adams, Jr. approach Burris about the appointment, and Two) Why isn't there more questioning about Burris' activities as a Lobbyist????

I think that Blagojevich needs to resign. But, if he's guilty, he won't resign because he has must have no conscience. We all heard the recordings. The man was trying to get paid from something that was wrong and illegal. And, he was bold with it! He basically got caught wit his pants down. But, the people could not remove him from power. It was legal and within his rights to appoint Mr. Burris. Who is apparently qualified and seems to be a fine man. Blagojevich really could do more damage than appoint Roland Burris as senator Of Illinois.

Good job Garrard,
I worked with you on a voiceover you did for JW Holding Group and Associates- "The Holding Company Concept". That was quite a while ago and you came to my house to do it in Gary, IN. I no longer live in Gary and get a chance to watch you occasionally. What a great show and CLTV must think so too, because you are a great talent. You have made us all proud and keep up the good work.
