I love Chicago, but I hate snow. I guess I should pack up and move to Arizona or Texas. When I'm in traffic, cursing the slush-filled roads, I have visions of Daley's snowplows dancing in my head. 294 was crazy this morning, but drivers were courteous for the most part. There was a truck on the Ogden ramp, spinning tires trying to get up the steep entrance. He needed some weights in the cab because he was in full rear-wheel drive mode. His truck looked more like a figure skater.
The changing of the seasons has its place, but severe cold (-3 degrees with -35 degree wind chills) and a foot of snow, has no place in Garrard's world. Where are the heated expressways? Let's put a dome on Soldier Field (I'm glad the Bears beat the Packers). Why can't administrators start using snow days?
I hate snow, but I love Chicago. A peculiar contradiction indeed, so let's move Michigan Avenue to Mesa, Arizona.

As long as my arsenal is working I LOVE SNOW, G'!
There's nothing better about winter than watching those lovely flakes fall from the sky accumulating in masses.
Such a wonderful thing when you're the one that gets paid to move it.
