G-Rod continues to defy popular opinion and named a replacement for President Elect Obama's Senate Seat.  Former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris is about as squeaky clean as Illinois politicians get, yet so many oppose his appointment.  Lots of different opinions on my show alone.

Viola Wiley:

It is quite an exceptional choice that Gov. Blagohevich made to select Roland Burris. I'm a public educator in the state of Illinois and originally from Mississippi. Since my relocation to the state of Illinois in 1991, I have noticed racism that will parallel directly to southern racism in Mississippi and other southern states. I'm appalled!!!
The late Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. is turning over in his grave after internalizing what the media and Illinois Dems & Repubs are doing in the political arena. Many knew that newly-elected political figures would be tainted with regular "good-old-boy" politics in the White House. Decisions and views should have been reserved until more governmental duties were fulfilled. The Gov made a wise choice. Fight it out!
