Is it possible for the CTA to be overstating how much the free rides are costing? If the free rides are costing $32M then the amounts they are getting from the paying customers should be more than sufficient. Let's think about it that's a lot of seniors at a reduced fare to get to $32M. Do they really ride that much and that often? Especially when seniors try to avoid being out and about when they feel unsafe. Maybe they need to take another look at the payroll and other budget areas to see where they are wasting money! I can bet, the seniors are not a bigger problem than the internal fiscal mismanagement over the years!
