Along with her being a beautiful sista' I must also add that it is refreshing to see an African American female, other than Oprah, with strong youthful appeal doing something more than shaking her groove thang in order to make her own way in life.
I wish her the best and I hope her stay in Chicago proves fruitful for her.
Minus J.J's wise cracks, there were a lot of things about Good Times between Thelma & J.J. that reminded me of the relationship between my Sister and I growing up. This is a testament to the realism (I thought) of the show and the Pioneering of the writers into the "reality t.v." landscape.
Again, all my best to her and career.

Hello Garrad and Bernadette,
I enjoyed your show Garrard with guess Bernadette "Thelma" Standis. I'm glad to see that age has made her even more beautiful, but her personality is just as pretty. My son Ventress just recently met Mrs. Standis this summer in Orlando and he had/has noting but great things to say. Thank you for you and your family making such a great impression on this young black male that my husband and I are trying so hard to raise to become a great black man! We will definitely check out your new book. Continue to be blessed!

Lindie:
Bern Nadette was spectacular. Such a warm and humble human being. She had another appointment that evening, but chose to stay in the studio with us for several minutes. A true professional who appreciates her audience. GM

Charles: She is very beautiful indeed...and a very warm spirit. She stayed in the studio well after the show was over, taking pictures and signing autographs. Thanks for posting a comment and watching the show.
