Sex Abuse in the Church

I think everyone who thinks a priest should get married will solve the problem is on the wrong track.

A priest has always been able to go where ever they wanted to go and meet with any woman that they wanted to meet with. All they had to do was to take off their white collar and they would looke like any onther man in the streets. I know that they could go out to taverns, smoke and no telling what else they did back in the days.

Marriage is not the answer because the truth of the whole deal is that these men want to have sex with a child and they would have sex with a child even if they were married and why even start another problem called incest because that is what will happen sooner or later. These men don't want a woman at all and I feel it's wrong to play the game of show and tell to make others happy when you know, you don't want a woman and this is not right if children are born out of some of the game play about let's get married and no one will know that I really want to be with a child. Let's get real world and stop dreaming, the facts is looking you in the face. Stop making excuses for these priests that knows just what they are doing and the head of the priesthood also knows the facts.

Marriage will not solve the problem, think about it. If you join a club and the rules were for you to not have any sex at any given time you have a choice on if you wish to join this club. Well guess what, a man who joins the priesthood knowns the rules and if they wish to get married, get with a woman or get with anyone they have the choice to not join the priesthood bottom line. These men use the church for what they wanted it for at the time and they got away with it bottom line, again stop dreaming world!

People today wonder why so many older people are just now speaking up it because back in the day you could not even say a priest was doing anything bad, your parents, your family, your friends would tell you that you are truly going to hell for telling a lie like that, it just was not done. You have to remember of if you don't know back in the 40's, 50's & 60's a child was seen but not heard bottom line and for a child to talk against a prist or even nun was not hear of back then.

When you were a child back in the day and was in school it was not uncommon for a priest to come to the class room and call a child to come out of the room because he needs to talk with that child and as a child you just did not think about anything like sex abuse, you thought about OH! NO! that kid is in trouble he or she is going to be in troubles their parents are going to come up to the school, but sex was never thought about during those days as a manner of fact their was no such thing call Sex Abuse as it is today. Now if the child was a bad child and he or she just stayed in trouble the priest would come an get them all the time and no one thought anything about it.

Now I do have one question about Jail. Now if the priest belong to any other type of religion he would good to jail, he would have to get a lawyer and hope that he will get out of jail one day. Why is it that the Pope who lives in Rome and all these other head prist have the rights to make the decision about if a prist go to jail or not and most of the time not go to jail this is not right.

I do believe that if you do the crime you should do the time and if you are a priest, nun, pastor, minister or what ever, if you committes a crime you should go to jail bottom line.

Sister Peace's comments were mostly on target. However, if priests were allowed to date women and get married, the priesthood would attract a different kind of man than it is attracting today. I do believe that if the silly celibacy requirement were dropped, we would see a more healthy outlook towards sex, which would likely lead to less sexual repression in Catholic teachings on the subject.
Does any rational person still take the biblical passage of Matthew 5:28 seriously? Should having passionate thoughts for women (or for men, if you are female)be a "damnable offence", unless we beg God for forgiveness? If Jesus meant that passage literally, He should be considered a charlatan, and not be taken seriously!
The priest pedophile scandal should further absolve people of guilt the Church instilled in us as kids, over human sexuality. If these "pious men" can abuse children, should we feel we are "morally corrupt" over such things as "impure thoughts", looking at Playboy, or pre marital sex??
