It's Official ... Obama picks Biden

obama biden.jpg

Wow!!!! After weeks of speculation, Barack Obama has picked Sen. Biden as his running mate.

GML wants to hear from you! Do you think it's a good pick? Will Biden help or hurt Obama's quest to become President? Is Biden too much of a Washington insider? Should Obama have picked Hillary Clinton?

Shawn Haynes:

I absolutely beleive that Biden is a excellent pick for Obama's running mate. I believe he is the balance that is needed.

Biden will prove to be very beneficial to Obama's journey to the White house. There is a difference between being an insider as opposed to wisdom and experience. Biden has proven well over his 30 plus years tenure in Washington that he will voice his opinions and stand by what he believes and not back down. Sometimes he is so passionate about his views that he has to deal with the aftermath of it all. I think that he can give needed advice to Obama without trying to over shadow him. And can more effectively respond to McCain's attacks being that they both reportedly are long time friends.

Under no circumstances should Hilary been considered for the VP. First of all what message would it have sent about a future president that own VP really does not beleive in his ability to do the job? Senator Clinton many times has spoke out to say it is simply not qualified. Who can forget the infamous 3am commercial? That is not the behavior of a future VP. Judging by her lack of grace when it was obvious that Obama secured the nomination says alot. If she cannot show leadership, poise and courtesy then how will she react as second in command? Hillary could have been very beneficial and a true leader by showing her supporters we put up a good fight, we should be proud of ourselves, but now it is time we do what is best for our party and stand behind Obama.

I am really excited about this ticket and proud that Obama took his time and selected someone that has a similar modest upbringing as himself as well as the integrity, experience and vision that he has for America. I was at the rally at Springfield yesterday and judging from the crowd's response and the strangers made new friends that I spoke to the feeling is pretty mutual.
