Why is it whenever one of the Chicago's sports team is about to win their respective title, Mayor Richard Daley has bet the mayor of the opposing team's city?
And true to form, as the Chicago Blackhawks prepare to take on the Detroit Red Wings, Daley has made a friendly wager with the new mayor of the motor city.
Seems like joy has a theme song when it comes to the Chicago Blackhawks. If you've attended any games at the UC lately, you'll have sung along to part of The Fratellis' 'Chelsea Dagger' - maybe without even knowing it.
Here's the Scottish band's video for the song - which became popular after its use in an Amstel Light ad.
Now that the Chicago Blackhawks have extinguished the Calgary Flames. There's sure to be a surge in fans jumping on the Blackhawks bandwagon. So, for those of you who aren't familiar with the rules of the game, the Chicago Tribune's Internet critic, Steve Johnson, put together what he calls "the beginnings of a beginner's guide to the Hawks and their sport."
