A published report says Michael Jackson's father and the musical group the Chi-Lites charged the city of Gary $5,000 to attend a memorial last month for the late pop singer in his hometown.
The Post-Tribune of Merrillville reported Friday that a claim released by the city shows the money will be split between Joe Jackson, the group and its lead singer, Marshall Thompson.
