WHAT WOULD THAT PUNISHMENT BE?
Hundreds of graves have been desecrated, dating back at least four years and possibly.. decades. The Cemetery in south suburban Alsip has turned into the site of a ghoulish nightmare for many.
Officials now acknowlege coming across complaints about Burr Oak that date back *years. The Reverend Jackson also expressed concern about three cemetery workers killed there in the 1970's, about whose deaths little is known. The fear: perhaps they uncovered past abuses and were silenced for it?
The investigation continues
Officials say cemetery records have been altered; some destroyed. Meantime, efforts were underway Friday to get a temporary restraining order to stop further burials at Burr Oak, because the burial problems are continuing there. Also, separately, state officials are working to pull the cemetery's licenses and ultimately force out the owners.
And yes, lawsuits are beginning to be filed. A class action suit is also in the works for the many families affected. But again, if YOU were the presiding judge over the four former cemetery workers so far charged in the case...

My Daughter was burried there in 1993 I go out there twice a month to care for the area around her head stone because they had not been keeping the grass moored , but lately they have been digging a lot I thoght they were clearing away trees for more graves and to start cleaning more often,I feel like I saw a crime in progress and didnt know it.The men should treated as criminals.

My prayers are goin out to the families that have to relive the memories of thier loved ones. The thought of graverobbing is so intense that there are hardly words that could express the feeling I have. I hope that we as patrons of Burr Oak cemetary have the strength to get through this tryin time. As for the graverobbers their fate will not be determined by us but they have a higher power to answer to.......

My father was buried there in 1966. Words fail me. I am in total shock. I have to wonder, did the owners families that were possible bury there treated with the same direspect as so many others for money? I wouldn't be surprise if they were because anyone who would do such a thing can't have a soul.

i am truly hurt can't believe this has happen my parents are burried there and to know someone treated them like something less then dirt hurts. now our taxes will pay for them to be jailed where they will get three meals a day tv and more where is the justice in that.
I am staying prayful and my faith will get me through this.

if it was any such thing possible... they should be charged with murder. because of the dismembering they done to my family remains.my biggest concern is my little brother whom we just recently buried there not to speak of both my parents,grand parents,uncle and a host of friends.but you see God said let "vengeance be mind"so i'm allowing God work to be done.

STAY STRONG PEOPLE I KNOW ONE THING GOD IS DEALING WITH THAT PERSON RIGHT NOW THAT'S HOW THE WORLD IS BUT ONE THING IS THAT THEY FUMBLE WITH THE BODIES FOR MONEY BUT THEIR BODY AND SOUL IN TROUBLE FOR A DIRTY LOW DISTRESS.

I drove by Burr Oak today and my heart ached for all of the families.

THEY SHOULD ROT IN A ONE ROOM CELL AND THEN AFTER THEY HAVE DIED GONE TO HELL , THEY SHOULD BE TREATED IN THE SAME WAY THEY HAVE TREATED ALL THOSE POOR SOULS.
