CALUMET CITY
When: Friday, 9:15 p.m.
Where: Superior Street Complex, 755 Pulaski Rd.
Of note: The “Kiddie Karnival” from 5 to 8 p.m. features face-painting and games. Grilled food available from 5 to 7 p.m.

FRANKFORT
When: Saturday, 9 p.m.
Where: Main Park, 200 S. Locust St.
Of note: Activities for kids, music and food.

JOLIET
When: Friday and Saturday, both at dusk.
Where: Friday at Bicentennial Park, 201 W. Jefferson St.; Saturday at Joliet Memorial Stadium, 3000 W. Jefferson St.

LANSING
When: Saturday, 9 p.m.

Where: Mokena Main Park, LaPorte Road east of Wolf Road Of note: Day starts with a parade, followed by demonstrations and drills by 2nd Kentucky Cavalry music by Orland Park Community Band.

NEW LENOX
When: Saturday, 9:30 p.m.
Where: Village Commons, 1 Veterans Pkwy.
Of note: Activities begin at 5 p.m. with a magic act, a family interactive game show, and an easy-listening classic rock concert. Patriotic songs begin at 8:30 p.m.

OAK LAWN
When: Saturday, 8:45 p.m.
Where: Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue.
Of note: The Jesse White Tumbling Team will perform prior to the fireworks display.

ORLAND PARK
When: Saturday, 9:30 p.m.
Where: Centennial Park, 15600 West Ave.
Of note: Fireworks are preceded by a two-day festival starting at 2 p.m. Friday at the park, with kids’ rides, parades, a fun run/walk and more. a swim, movies, a police-vs.-firefighters softball game, overnight camping, a pancake breakfast and music. PLAINFIELD
