2009 BEARS TAKE A HISTORY LESSON

The Chicago Bears training camp is just one day away from getting underway down in Bourbonnais.

And as usual, controversy surrounds the Monsters of The Midway before things even get started.

Former Bears wide receiver Bobby Wade, currently with the Vikings, told a local Minnesota radio station this week that Chicago linebacker Brian Urlacher called newly acquired and star quarterback Jay Cutler a P^$@! Wow!

But Bear fans, don’t get alarmed. Isn’t this exactly what you want? Aren’t these the ingredients needed to winning a Super Bowl?

A defensive player blasting an offensive player that plays on the same team? My, what is this world coming to? A quarterback going against his linebacker? Say it ain’t so!

Leave it to the Bears, there always has to be some type of quarterback controversy even when there isn’t. That’s just Bears football.

But seriously, relax gridiron stud fans. This is healthy.

The ’85 Bears won a Super Bowl and despite their dominance, they had a little controversy.

The defense didn’t like the offense. Linebacker and former Score Sports Radio host, Dan Hampton didn’t like teammate quarterback Jim McMahon. Sounds familiar?

Everyone knows the feud between Head Coach Mike Ditka and Defensive Coordinator Buddy Ryan during that triumphant year and season.

So, Bears fans let the games begin. It’s football season. Believe me, there’s more to come.

Training camp is here!
