One woman in attendance today at the Michael Jackson memorial service at Sweet Holy Spirit Church said one reason she admired the King of Pop so much was that before he came along, "MTV was all white."
The "Thriller" video certainly changed that.
Does anyone remember MTV in those two years pre-"Thriller"?

With all due respect, but lets face it, the guy was a child molester and a wierdo..
Why don't we pay more attention to the little 2 year old girl that was tortured and killed by her babysitter?
Why don't we pay more attention to the 9 year old girl that was shot by some stupid gang banger just for the hell of it?
And all the other useless killings of inocent children that go on in Chicago as well as the entire world!
The mayor of Gary, is more worried about MJ's remains than the many other problems in his town.
Why is Jesse Jackson so worried about MJ's affairs? Jesse, pay attention to what goes on in your own back yard.
President Obama, come on, an "MJ Holiday"?
The guy died probably due to overmedication. Why don't we worry as much about all the inocent children that are being murdered?

i am 10 years old so i really do not no michael but i no a lot of his song i no his family is said but people die every day but i no how you fell because if i lost my brother every day would not be right in i loved all michael songs i thought that they were good for chilrden my age no bad words or any thing like that what i want to say is good luckl to all the jackson family in i wanted to say just because michael was not one of our family was still treated him like he is one of our family I LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON

MTV before and during the Thriller out-breakage was like a public access channel that ran videos non-stop with Martha Quinn and Nina Blackwood. Then it gave spotlight to annoyances like Downtown Julie Brown and Kurt Loder. It was still pretty white though, even with Thriller.
