A 14 year old boy was a cop for five hours. Can this be serious? Is it really that easy? This young man doesn't even have a drivers license and yet he was able to walk into a police station check out a radio and get an assignment with a real police officer. It sounds like something out of the movie Catch Me If You Can.
The boy has taken part in a Chicago program for youth interested in policing, but even that should not teach you enough to fool everyone. Luckily it seems that he was only trying to help, but think what could happen if someone was impersonated a police officer with malicious intent.
It is unknown where the 14 year old got his replica uniform, which seems to have been perfect except for an official star that CPD officers have. Some overstock shops carry military and police uniforms. So is anyone with the means to purchase a uniform and a little know how, capable of infiltrating a police department and completely blending in? It's at least possible as we have seen. How does it make you feel? A little worried? A little scared? Or is this just an isolated incident like the police are saying? Leave your comments.
