According to Chicago Breaking News the CPS is taking drastic measures to try to end the violence at recent high school basketball games. Three new rules have been implemented. All boys varsity games will begin at 4 P.M., the visiting team's fans will not be allowed to attend the games and in some cases, where there is a history of trouble between the schools, no fans will be allowed to attend the game.
Is this a fair solution in anyway? Visiting teams will be at even more of a disadvantage with none of their fans to offset the home town fans as well as the fact that many parents love to travel to their sons' basketball games to see them play. Also, in certain cases no fans being allowed in the gym seems a little absurd. Parents being able to see their students playing is a great enjoyment for the parents and the student. On the other hand the CPS is taking the initiative to keep their student athletes safe and that is the most important thing, but is there another way to do it? Post your thoughts and if you think there is a better solution.

I am a 40 year old woman south suburban basketball fan. I was always disappointed about the early times that CPS played their games. Suburban schools have been playing there games at 7pm with little or no incident. They have so many adults at the games because the whole neiborhood supports the neiborhood team. At CPS games adults that want to attend have to work. It's a shame that they had to result to this. I am a product of CPS but I would I would have never sent my child to a CPS school because to me u r setting a child up for failure overall.
