My condolences go out to the Hudson Family and every other family that loose a relative too early or because of foolishness and recklessness. PEOPLE! You need to remember that we are innocent until proven other wise. The evidence does point toward William Balfour; therefore, this makes it easy to come to individual assumptions that he committed the crime. However, if this case was an open and shut one, then WB would have been charged by now. The public needs to calm down and remember that they have not charged him with this crime. He is a "person of interest" not a suspect. The reason I say this, is because we never know which way things are going to go and all of the facts and evidence have not been publicly displayed and the last thing this city or Englewood needs is to be in an uproar, if things do not go in the direction that has already been foreseen. Let’s get all the facts before we send him to the chambers. And for WB's mother, she's doing what so many people do each and every day, we need to start taking responsibility for the things that we do, if more people took responsibility for their actions and the actions of their children then Englewood and so many other inner city neighborhoods would not be in the conditions they are in now. But, Michele is not by herself and before we past judgment on her, look into your own homes and make sure that it's in order. Not just Michele, but Julia as well, as women, we have to be careful who we bring around our children. Once you bring a child into this world it is your sole responsibility to make sure that; that child is kept safe by any means necessary, and if that means putting your life on hold for just a little while then that needs to be done. So many women think so little of them, and easily settle for less. Well it's time for the women of this city especially my black women to stand up and demand more from these men, because when you settle for less...less is what you get. Stop taking care of these men, stop getting dropped off at work in your car, while he drives around picking up his other girlfriends in a car that you are paying the note on, stop bringing drug dealer, users, gang bangers, unemployed men around your little boys because they will turn out to be what you have showed them, stop making children with men you know are not going to be around and take care of their children, stop using drugs and being negligent parent's, start paying more attention to your child and know what they are doing and who they are doing it with and last and foremost, start modeling appropriate behavior around your children, we are our children's first teachers, act in a manner you would want them to act. And if you have done this, but your child choose to do otherwise, then you can stand up and say for a fact that you did not raise your child to be a murderer, drug dealer, gang banger or menace. I can go on and on with examples, but I believe that you all get the idea. So therefore, stop sitting back passing judgment unless you know that you do not fall into these categories. While people are sitting back judging they may one day find themselves in these same positions. I am a resident of Englewood and also a social worker; I do not feel that I am on the outside looking in. These things I have spoken about are not assumptions; I see them on a regular basis, therefore, I know that Michele, William and Julia are not by themselves. As a resident of Englewood, I see people complaining about the conditions of the neighborhood but at the same time they are housing drug deals, users and gang banger. How can you complain about someone else when you are enabling your own family member and supporting them as they tear down our communities? So Michelle Davis-Balfour is not by herself, because the conditions in Englewood were not created just by William Balfour. There is many Williams Balfour's in the Englewood community and there is many Donell's, Jason's, and Julian's dying every day. So, sitting on the outside looking in with comments and no solutions is meaningless as far as I'm concerned, and I leave you all by sending this out to the resident's of Englewood...We need to get our houses in order, we need to take our community back, we need to turn our community back into the kind of community where your children can go out and play w/out the worry of them being gunned down by gang cross fire. If you have a gang-banger in your home then you need to tell them to relocate, if you have a drug dealer or users in your home, then you need to tell them to relocate. When these young men and women stand in front of your homes you need to call the police and if the police do not come then you need to go to the station and report it, and keep reporting it until something is done about it, because as long as we remain silent the conditions of the Englewood community will continue to remain the same.

I am deeply saddened by this horrific loss for the Hudson family! May the good Lord have mercy on them. Truely, none of us know what really happened. I do believe, whomever is involved knew the family personally, and really held a grudge against them! Its a shame, how people choose to play God! People must remember, God never sleeps and justice will be served!!!! God bless!!

I dont know if Balfour did it or not, i do believe he has something to do with it, even if he is being framed for it. I just think he is involved. Ms Balfour please just support your son quietly, because you are sounding really crazy, your son should have gotten his GED while he was taking what didn't belong to him. I agree Ms. Balfour comments at this moment should be no comment until she has the opportunity to hear all sides/evidence. At 16 years old he was in prison but she says it was not his fault who's fault was it then hers. Then she tried to make it seem like it was the other guys fault in the attempted murder situation. Ok explain this one to me Ms. Balfour. The guy William trying to steal his car; probably his only means of transportation so he tried to stop it and you said the guy was choking your son. Do you see the problem here was not the guy trying to protect his property but YOUR SON WILLIAM trying to steal it. Then drives around town with the guy on the car and then into a pole to try to get the guy off the car. Yeah that sounds like attemepted murder to me. He gets caught with drugs in a car and the first person you blame is Julia. My thoughts to you is if he did do this yes you should take some blame for this because you have enable him and made excuses for so long. I am sorry but with a recod like this what else was next for him to do. If he was trying to change his life around how about going to your parole office appointment? No offense but to say he got his GED while in prison does not make him a good person. Some things we should just do. Instead of giving condolences to both Julia and Jennifer for their lost you in a sense blamed their brother. How much denial are you in regarding his behavior before and after this incident?

i have read so many comments about what has happened to the hudson family and it's a terrible tragedy. there are alot of loop holes that need to be filled and too many people are convicting this young man because of his past. i am a mother of four and i can't see what my kids do everyday. but i pray that whatever their endeavors are they are positive. ms balfour has a right to protect her child. there's 3 sides to every story, the hudson side, the balfour side, and the truth. i believe that they are holding this young man because he knows something that may hurt or kill him. i've listened to the news and i think they need to strongly interview julia hudson because from her words she's talking to someone other than balfour and she knows something. my prayers go out to the hudson family and i hope that whoever did this gets caught. if it's not balfour alot of you that convicted him w/o a trial will feel truly bad. i also pray for both families because they both are in pain.
