I understand the police arrest individuals on a daily basis. But, what about the prosecution of these individuals by the county states attorneys. I find that these criminals get arrested and in terms “given a slap on the wrist.” What are the prosecution statistics and who are holding the Cook County responsible for allowing the release of these criminals back on the street?

Comments: Weis detailed his police effort, while adding the aside"that they were working against the odds".Unless the good citizens, families and organizations realize that violence knows no age, gender or affluency, and determines fully to root it out of our communities and governments, we can never win against it.Every life has value-and no one communiity is immune from violence. At the root of high crime areas is defeat, desperation and disconnectedness.Time for all of us to jump in with firece determination to be part of the solution.A street shoot-out is not the solution-from any quarter.

Jody Weis should be thrown out. My son was arrested illegaly for no reason. he is sitting in county with no record. you have murderers out plus I almost got shot at the taste-where are the guys who DIDN'T GET ARRESTED? My son was charged with a felony for stealing a radio and bullets with no weapon yet! he has no record. you jerks are ruining his life because of this. he was a minor when he was arrested. he had 2 prelim hearings he should have had 1. I am going to all the tv stations with this and show everyone how crooked and rotten the chgo system is.

The Aldermen should be called to the site when
the police are called to a shooting or a over active
illegal party or any time when their people are acting inappropriate. Why is the Aldermen not being
blamed for their residents actions? Why are they not
doing more in their Wards to fix the problems they
have created themselves in their Wards by sitting by
all these years? The Aldermen should be held
accountable for what happens in their Ward and should be fired or recalled when THEY do nothing.
They all complain but do nothing themselves.

How was Mike Shields promoted with 2 CR numbers for assault. Jody Weiss may and may not be the right person for the job and the reason for that being he should have made decisions from his own observations instead of word of mouth. Now the city of Chicago is suffering the consequenses behind his actions.
