Are you outraged?
Last month, 8 Chicago Public School students were shot and killed. That's an average of 2 students gunned down, per week.
Just this week, two teenagers (who were not currently enrolled in school) were killed by gunfire.
Are you outraged, yet?
You should be.
Some of the kids who attend schools in Chicago's toughest neighborhoods are afraid to go to school. Kids aren't able to be kids, because they're worried about violence and gangs. If you think this doesn't affect you, because it's not happening in YOUR neighborhood...think again. Every time a child dies, we are losing someone who could have made a great contribution to our world.
What is going on here?
From guns to gangs and parental responsibility. Next week, we're taking on the issues on CLTV. Join us weeknights live at 5pm for "Deadly Lessons."

Very, VERY sad what's going on in the city. Neither the Governor nor da Mayor(Daley) have anything to go on but rhetoric.
Maybe it is time for the Army/Navy/Marines to give it a go. I propose pulling out 750 troops from Iraq and send them to a REAL war zone--Chicago streets. Fully armed Army/Navy/Marines full equipped(guns) and equipped with menancing attack dogs will guard Chicago streets for the next FIVE YEARS.
Their VISUAL presence(along with the fangs of a crazed dog or two) will help CONVINCE the shooters to cool it.
If, by complete accident, these soldiers let a dog escape and chew up a gang banger or two...well, God's will !!

This is a problem that exists all over the country. The reason this problem exists is because our society values money and superstar sports and Hollywood celebrities over common sense and humanity.
In the world's vision to make this a better planet, it seems what has been forgotten is that we should value people over money.
They sure forgot this in Washington, DC, a place where the crime rate is outrageously high. Lawmakers are busy collecting campaign money, making deals, and covering themselves with high money jobs and consulting fees once they leave office. Our entire government in Chicago is based on patronage and money grubbing greed.
Until this world values people over money, expect the violence to continue to grow. Expect it to continue and grow as people cannot find jobs to pay for anything necessary in life, like health care and decent food to eat.
This problem exists, and will continue to fester and become even more exacerbated, as the focus is on money and not on the human condition.
