Cash Crunch: Tuesday

Home foreclosures have jumped 57 percent since March 2006, according to a new report.

Illinois is one of the states with the highest number of homes going into foreclosure. In Chicago alone, more than 50,000 homeowners are at risk of losing their homes because of the subprime mortgage crisis.

We are continuing our look at the lagging economy with our special weeklong series "Cash Crunch." On Tuesday, we're discussing the housing slump.

Foreclosure expert, Steven Bashaw, and David Hanna from the Chicago Association of Realtors will join us live in the studio. We'll talk about how you can avoid foreclosure and we'll have some tips on selling your home.

Join us Tuesday at 5pm for "Cash Crunch" on CLTV.

We'll take some of your questions and comments during the show. We'll also show some of your blog responses.

What's a "good credit score"?

Alicia Hudson:

I've urged Sen Obama to ask the people to donate their (stimulus) checks to feed the hungry and I've asked him to stop campaigning and contribute instead to feed the needy, here and in Africa. I'm a contractor and I can lose my job any day, as a matter of fact, I was laid off 3 times last year. I don't have money, I live paycheck to paycheck-just like the next guy. The govt check we're gonna get is NOT going to buy a whole helluva lot & sure as hell is not gonna stimulate crap! But it sure can feed a person or two. We've got tons of people losing their homes to foreclosure, wild fires, etc-why not use the darn money that we're paying our soldies to die, to soldiers to help build a home in America, where people can live. We need to do something about the starving people and the homeless in the World, if we put the stimulus check in our gas tank-Bush will just get richer!
