Deadly Lessons

This weekend, two more Chicago Public School students died because they were shot to death. Here's the Chicago Tribune:

Two teens have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the weekend slaying of a student outside Simeon Career Academy, Chicago police said Monday morning. Two others who were with them in a car when they were arrested were released without charges.

Ronald Little, 19, of the 7800 block of South Hoyne Avenue, and Samuel Hill, 17, of the 2000 block of West 80th Street, were charged in the slaying of Chavez Clarke, 18, the 20th Chicago Public Schools student killed by gun violence this school year.

Here's the story from CLTV:

Why does this keep happening and what can be done?

CLTV plans a week of special programs examining this issue. Starting Monday, April 7th at 5pm, CLTV anchor/reporter and Whitney Young High School grad Gaynor Hall will host five days of live programs, and take your phone calls. Scheduled guests include CPS head Arne Duncan and the father of slain Julian High student Blair Holt.
