This weekend marked the end of my whirlwind 2009 wedding season. All in all, I attended five separate weddings, travelling everywhere from Omaha to New York City and even Claremont, CA. In addition to racking up some serious frequent flyer miles, I also picked up a few hair and makeup tricks along the way. As they say, practice makes perfect, so here are some items that helped me achieve a great wedding look every time.

Healthy Tresses
Most of us put our hair through a lot of heat damage, especially when we're prepping for a big event like a wedding. To combat the abuse, I use oil -based treatments once a month. Global Goddess Coconut Amla Revitalizing Hair Treatment is fragrant, lightweight and quickly restores moisture and sheen.
Smooth and Sleek
If you've got wavy or curly hair, it's nearly impossible to make your hair look sleek and straight without a straightening product. Bumble and Bumble's aptly-named Straight serum gets the job done right every time. Apply a small squeeze of this stuff all over damp hair before you blow dry and you'll be left with straight and luxurious locks.
Big Bounce
I love great blowouts but hate paying for them. Instead, I've forced myself to learn how to do my own hair, and what I've learned is that a great blowout requires skill and the right tools. My favorite round brush of the moment is Ibiza's G5 extra large brush. This cork-handled brush has strong bristles that grab onto your hair and lift it from the root, resulting in wonderfully voluminous tresses.

SKIN
Face Forward
Have you ever noticed how dry your skin feels after a long cross country flight? Eucerin's Everyday Protection Face Lotion with SPF 30 has been a favorite of mine for years and I always make sure to slather it onto clean skin before and after flights. It's lightweight, oil-free and packed with SPF.
Soft and Smooth
It's never too soon to start protecting the delicate skin around your eyes from sun damage. Estee Lauder's Time Zone Eye Cream infuses skin with moisture and anti-wrinkle technology. Dab a little cream on top of your lids and under your eyes for all-around protection and hydration.
Concealed Weapon
Finding the perfect concealer can be tricky--you've got to search for the right color, coverage, and consistency. Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat covers all the bases in one wonderfully portable magic wand. This creamy formula is lightweight and ideal for hiding dark undereye circles and small blemishes.

EYES
Butterfly Lashes
I love the idea of drawing attention to my eyes with the right makeup and tools, but eye lash curlers really scare me. After testing a bunch of brands throughout the years, I've finally found a great curler that doesn't pull and tug at your eyelid or lashes. Place the Shu Uemura curler over your lashes just once for a quick curl, and finish the look with a coat of mascara.
Wide-Eyed Beauty
Fancy events call for big, dramatic eyes. Two coats of L'Oreal's collagen-enriched mascara will give you long, sexy and plump lashes.
MAKEUP
Bronzed Babe
In the fall and winter months it's more important than ever to add a pinch of sun-kissed color to your cheeks. I've tried countless bronzing powders and Becca Cosmetics bronzer beat them all out. The bronzer goes on effortlessly, leaving a natural-looking glow.

Sheer and Sexy
There's nothing worse than lipstick that adds color but removes moisture. I love Laura Mercier Lip Colour Sheer for two reasons: the lipstick is super-hydrating and the pigment will stay put from the ceremony to cocktail hour.
Gleaming Gloss
Revlon's Shine City lipgloss adds the perfect amount of shine to your pout. Add a coat of gloss on top of your favorite lipstick or use it on bare lips for a youthful glow.
NAILS

Nude You
Essie's Not Just Pretty Face has been my go-to all summer long. This nude and pink combo looks classy no matter what color dress you're wearing. Paint it on medium-length nails for truly feminine fingers.
Dark Night
As the weather gets colder, nail polish shades will be getting darker. OPI's Here Today Aragon Tomorrow is a totally fun alternative to dark purples and blacks. This bold shade works best when paired with simple black cocktail dresses and short, well-manicured nails.
