With snow days and holiday shopping, your health and exercise routines may be a little under the weather. But don't throw in the towel and give up all that you have, spend just a little time each day on some healthy habit. Here are a few tips of things that make a big difference during this busy time of year.
1) Eat at least three healthy foods everyday. That's right make a conscious effort to eat more fruits, veggies, lean proteins and foods filled with fiber--even tortillas can be healthy if you opt for products with lots of fiber like Mission Foods Carb Balance Tortillas
2) Make an effort to do something everyday throughout the rest of this month for your body's circulation. Even arm circles increase blood flow to the muscles and joints. So don't think you have to sweat it out at the gym for hours every week-- just be conscious to move in any small way at least ten minutes every day. Check out these 10 minute workouts on my website www.andreametcalf.com under FREE Exercises.
3) Take a breath and just be! Even small amounts of stress reduction like deep breathing can be beneficial to the body. So close your eyes and imagine a wonderful beach with the sun setting and breathe deeply into your belly. Oh and on that beach is where I'll be for the holiday in sunny Cabo, Mexico. Hasta la vista baby!
