Lou Tries Yoga

Earlier today, I shot a story at Crunch health club for Living Healthy Chicago. I was told the story was about "air gravity yoga," and was intrigued to say the least. At the age of 44, I've thought more and more about taking up yoga or pilates.

While I work out all the time, I NEVER stretch, and realize this is a problem. I haven't stretched in over 20 years, going back to my days of playing baseball. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that every time I get out of bed, I can barely walk. My body is so sore from working out the night before that after 8 hours of sleep, I can't move. This has to change!!! Not to name drop, but the Bears' Brian Urlacher spent the offseason doing a form of yoga and stretching more than he ever has in the past. Urlacher's 31-years-old and can't believe he waited this long. In August he told me that he felt as good as he EVER has. I don't want to be "the hunchback of Notre Dame," so I'm determined to start doing a better job of stretching. I never took yoga seriously, but after Tuesday, this will change. I did the yoga class for a half hour. I worked muscles and was sore in areas I haven't used since those baseball days. Guys, I realized this week that doing yoga isn't the waste of time I always thought it was. Don't end up like me--- STRETCH,STRETCH, STRETCH. You'll even sleep better.
