One of my most favorite Michael Jackson memories is this chill-inducing performance of "Heal The World" during Superbowl XXVII, complete with a 35,000 person flash card show... AMAZING! It came at a time when the world was in repair after the Gulf War and still gives me goose bumps after all these years.
It got me thinking about the best of MJ that will live and breathe well beyond his brief 50 years. Read on for my Top 10 songs...
By now, you may have heard that former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has agreed to appear on NBC's competition show: 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here." (Pending a judge's approval, of course). This got us thinking. What other reality TV shows (existing or spin-off) would be a good fit for Blago?
Here's our Top Ten:
Watchmen is opening to huge crowds this weekend, which spurred a little discussion within the "metromix on CLTV" offices. What is the best superhero film of all time? I was up to the challenge. While it's too early to say if Watchmen can fit into my list, I have put together my pre-Watchmen Top 10 of the Best Superhero Movies of all time. We start with #10, after the jump......
MLB spring training is officially here. While I was listening to the reports of my Chicago Cubs reporting to camp, I realized how much I really missed baseball - although I'm still having a hard time with last October. But besides 101 tough years for Cubs fans....baseball has also given us some of the best films ever made. Last year, I put together a list of my favorite baseball films of all time, ranked them, and I was ready to share 'em with the world! So in case you missed it, here it is again - complete with video clips!
The Top 10 Best Star Spangled Banner performances - with VIDEO!
Marcus Leshock here. Jennifer Hudson sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIII, and she blew the sails off the pirate ship at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. After her performance, I found myself in a conversation about where it ranked in the history books. After a little perusing around the internets, I have compiled my list of the Top 10 Star Spangled Banner performances of all time - from sporting events to concerts. We start with number 10.....
ABC’s Lost returns Wednesday night in all its deliciously frustrating, mind-messing glory. In a series filled with jaw-dropping, scratch-you-head moments, we’re presenting our ten favorites. 10. Ace – Paris – Season 13
Ace was the good-natured Southern party guy with a smile that could warm the coldest Parisian hearts. Sure it was easy too look like a catch when you’re standing next to Paris’s McSleazy (aka C ‘I take credit for flowers I didn’t send’ T) but Ace was charming anyway. Entertainment value: 7 Drama Caused: 0 Cohabitate-ability: 10
2008 was the Year of the Dog; from the White House with the Obama's future pooch, to the bookshelf where Edgar Sawtell and his dogs ruled the best seller list, to the box office where Marley romps our way on Wednesday. So in honor of his debut, we're giving you our Top 10 Movie Dogs of all time.
10) Beethoven - Beethoven (1992)
He was adorable as a puppy, but then lost his charm as he grew up... and made seven sequels. He ruined the house and Charles Grodin's career in one go. Still, he's huge dog comedy at it's purest.
All it takes is one twinkling light and I'm busting out the red-and-white stockings! But for those a little more Bah Humbug -- you can borrow a few of my favorite ways to get in the spirit of the season...
1. Millenium Park
B-Y-O-S (Bring Your Own Skates) and take a free spin around the glistening rink -- or rent a pair for only $10 to twirl under the city skyline.
