One of my most favorite Michael Jackson memories is this chill-inducing performance of "Heal The World" during Superbowl XXVII, complete with a 35,000 person flash card show... AMAZING! It came at a time when the world was in repair after the Gulf War and still gives me goose bumps after all these years.
It got me thinking about the best of MJ that will live and breathe well beyond his brief 50 years. Read on for my Top 10 songs...
1. "Thriller"
2. "Beat It"
3. "The Girl is Mine"
4. "Black or White"
5. "Billie Jean"
6. "The Way You Make Me Feel"
7. "Heal the World"
8. "Smooth Criminal"
9. "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)"
10. "You Are Not Alone"
Ten feels way to short -- there's about a dozen more songs I can croon word-for-word. The man might be gone, but the legend lives on...

Some deep thoughts, and indeed, Michael Jackson sang "Heal the World" at Super Bowl XXVII. However, Super Bowl XXVII took place in 1993, two years after the start of the Desert Storm conflict. At Super Bowl XXV, ABC preempted coverage of its halftime show for war coverage. But you were probably so devastated that New Kids On The Block weren't shown on television you have blocked this out of your memory.
The Gulf War ended in 1991, so Michael Jackson's halftime show was about two years after the fact. Maybe you were still thinking about the sacrifices of our men and women and MJ's performance brought that out in you?
Also, there's no way "Heal The World" is better than any song on either the "Thriller" record or "Off The Wall." And "You Are Not Alone" is better than "Bad," "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough," "Rock with You," or "Human Nature?" What planet are you from?
