I was very excited to read about this on Deadline Hollywood Daily. "The Orphanage" director Juan Antonio Bayona has been tapped to helm the third installment of the "Twilight" series. I don't know how crazy I am about the books, but Bayona is a phenomenal talent. "The Orphange" was one of my favorite flicks of 2007, about a mother searching for her missing son in a creepy old orphanage.
Bayona is a protege of director Guillermo Del Toro. Guillermo once told me in an interview that he'd "love to be the one to off one of the Harry Potter kids." That should give you a feel for their dark sense of humor.
Well, it might not be "Harry Potter," but "Twilight" is nearly as popular. Someone like Bayona could really inject some interesting tone into the series. Again, I'm not sure how dark the book Eclipse gets, but with Bayona at the helm, the movie will certainly have an interesting mood.
"Eclipse" is set to hit theaters on November 10th, 2010, on par with Summit Entertainment's plan to make every fall season for the foreseeable future a "Twilight" season. For once, I'm psyched about that - but what do you "Twilight" fans out there think?

Eclipse gets rather dark, well as dark as any of the books get. I am rather excited for this, it means it could actually be a great movie. Jackson rathbone who plays Jasper in the movies is going to be in clive barkers Dread which looks frightful (in a good way) and Jasper is a key character in Eclipse. So Hopefully this is great news.
