Through the course of the week we receive numerous emails from viewers asking all kinds of questions. We answer them all, but I thought it appropriate to post some of the questions on the blog, in case you might have been wondering some of the same things! Maybe you saw something on the program and you can't remember it's name, or maybe you just want to find a great place to eat this weekend. The Metromix Mailbag has your answers! Today's first question is about all you can eat candy!
Dear Metromix Mailbag,
Few weeks back you had done a bit on an all you can eat dessert at a top floor of an hotel. I know it was in Chicago and was open on Thursdays. I can't remember the name of the hotel. My friends and I wanted to try it out. Would you be able to help?
Jamila
Of course we can help! The Candy Buffet you are speaking of is at C-View, the top floor bar at the Affinia Hotel (166 E. Superior). The spread is put on by Toni Roberts, the executive pastry chef at C-House, the downstairs restaurant in the lobby. It'll cost you $19 and goes down every Thursday night from 6-10 p.m.
Dear Metromix Mailbag,
I am very interested in your Friday/Saturday video of Alex Levesque's Automotive Art. A young man renting my garage has an antique automobile he is restoring and I'm sure he would like to contact Mr. Levesque. I am unable to find any information concerning him on the web.
Evelyn
Hi Evelyn! Alex Levesque has received an outpouring of generosity from people like you all over Chicagoland since his piece aired. You can get in touch with him by calling his shop directly at 773-563-0034 or by contacting him on his YouTube channel at youtube.com/curbauto.
DEAR METROMIX MAILBAG,
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE ARE THE PLACES WHERE YOU CAN ORDER DINNER AND WATCH A MOVIE AT THE SAME TIME IN LOMBARD ILLINOIS.
ROSALIND
Hi Rosalind. No need to get angry and yell at the mailbag, it's happy to help you! The place you are speaking of is probably Hollywood Boulevard in Woodridge (1001 W. 75th St). They have multiple theaters, all with different themes, as well as a full dinner/lunch menu and bar! You can eat while you watch a movie, plus, tickets only cost you $8 with no minimum purchase requirement (but they even have great specials on the menu. It's a deal all around)! They come highly recommended by me and they'll soon be opening another location in Naperville. One of my best bets in Chicagoland.
Dear Metromix Mailbag,
Upon viewing a show by the name of "The Secrets of Scotch Whiskey" with Marcus Leshock, I wanted to join the whiskey club that was mentioned. However, I do not remember the name of the club. Can you assist? Thank you!
Dawn
Hi Dawn. The Mailbag is always happy to answer a whisky question. The distillery you speak of is called Ardbeg. It's located on the small island of Islay on the western coast of Scotland. Their scotch is known for its strong, peaty aroma and flavor. You can join the Ardbeg Committee for free on their website, it gets you access to all of the latest news related to the brand. You'll find it at ardbeg.com
P. S. When it comes to Scotch, whisky is spelled without the "E," something I learned too hard when I was writing/producing the program!
Dear Metromix Mailbag,
I'm a restaurant or bar that wants to be featured on the show. How in the world do I do that? Should I start calling the desk? Should I find out where Marcus Leshock lives and pry open his bedroom window? Help!
Restaurant/Bar Owner
Oh, you again. We love getting your ideas. We're one of the few television programs in this city that takes viewer feedback very seriously and often covers viewer suggestions, no matter how bizarre they might seem. Hey, we're pretty weird too. You can get in touch with us in a few ways. One - send an email to the "metromix TV" inbox at metromixTV@tribune.com. Or, you can email me directly at mleshock@tribune.com. I'm sure Jackie would be happy to hear from you as well, but I won't post her email address without her permission. That's how classy I am.

Have you reviewed Priscilla's Ultimate Soul Food Cafeteria in Streamwood (1020 S. Barrington Road)? If not, please do so ASAP. This place is a God-send for soul food lovers out in the 'burbs who don't have the time, money or gas to have to drive into the city. The food is cost-friendly and the food is fresh (ie made from scratch) and great-tasting. This place's menu goes beyond just friend chicken and catfish(both are excellent here by the way); they also serve hamhocks,BBQ ribs, short ribs, cornish hens and meatloaf, plus collared greens, black-eyed peas, all sorts of pies (including sweet potato) plus peach cobbler. I thought I would need the jaws of life to get me out of my booth after all the great food I had downed this past afternoon. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The ambience is open, airy and cool. I even got to meet and shake hands with the owner Priscilla in the food order line!
