Hello all! In case you don't have much to do tomorrow, I'm going to be a "celebrity bowler" in Chicago Blackhawk Brent Seabrook's first "ICE" bowling event! It's all going down at 10pin Bowling Lounge (330 N. State St. in Chicago) from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M.
I will be paired with a team of Hawks fans and we will hit the bowling lanes! I come from a family of bowlers, actually. My uncle Jim hits the senior professional circuit from time to time. Unfortunately, I lack most of his skills.
It's all for a great cause to benefit the Inner City Educaiton Program. Even if you don't have the cash to purchase lane time, you can still pay between $25-$50 and come out and watch! You also get access to Hawks players for pictures/autographs. We're talking Seabrook, Duncan Keith, Brian Campbell and more! So come on out to 10pin and don't forget to say hello! The full press release is pasted below:
BLACKHAWKS SEABROOK TO HOST CELEBRITY BOWLING OUTING ON SATURDAYIn conjunction with the Inner City Education Program (ICE), Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook will host his first annual celebrity “ICE” Bowl at 10pin Bowling Lounge (330 N. State St. in Chicago) on Sat., Nov. 8 from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M.
Seabrook will be joined by several teammates, including Brian Campbell, Adam Burish, James Wisniewski and Duncan Keith, along with Tommy Hawk, the team’s mascot, the Blackhawks Bud Light Ice Crew and local media celebrities at the event. The Inner City Education Program was established in 2003 to help low income youths who play organized hockey educational opportunities not otherwise available to them.
“It is an honor and pleasure for me to be involved in such a special program,” Seabrook said. “This is all for a wonderful cause and I’m thrilled at the support of my teammates on this event.”
Now in his fourth season with the Blackhawks, Seabrook, 23, has been involved with the Inner City Education Program for the last two years, helping out at fundraisers and donating equipment.
Fans interested in attending can purchase lane sponsorships that include bowling with the attending Blackhawks players and media celebrities or spectator tickets for adults and children. For more information, log on to innercityeducation.org or call Brad Erickson at (773) 450-4217.
