Derek:

Tango Sur on Southport. The steak is hands down the best. Not to mention, you get 2 huge, juicy filets with spinach mashed potatoes for $20.

Mike P.:

So many great steak houses in Chicago. My top three would have to be Joe's Steak and Stone Crab on Grand, The Chicago Chop House, and Ditka's. Ditka's atmosphere is what makes the place so great and the food, not only the steaks, is always excellent.

Joel Koster:

My favorite which some may overlook is Wildfire restaurant. The woodfire flame gives such a great flavor to the premium aged steaks. The crab cakes and wild rice are also excellent. My favorite cuts there are the NY Strip with peppercorn crust or the woppin Porterhouse steak which will not disappoint. Excellent unique flavor which I have not had anywhere else.

J Mislinski:

Absolutely, positively the Chop House has the best steak. Tender, delicious, so flavorful but without adding too much. Easily the best in the city.

LE:

Rosebud Steakhouse/Smith & Wollensky's/Capitol Grill

lindsey:

Shulas Steak House is the best. Their steaks are so juicy and always cooked just right. I also love their lobster mashed potatoes and mac and cheese!

Carlotta Lukowski:

Ruth's Chris and Chicago Chop House get our votes.

j:

There are many great choices for steak in Chicago. The one place I keep going back to is The Chicago Chop House. Where else can you get a great "meal"(salad and potato are included). The wine list is the best in the city and the service is great!

N C:

Everyone who posted before me is crazy. Morton's sucks, Bob Chinns is alright, Pete Millers can jump off a bridge. Go get the Porcinni Del Monico @ Capital Grille and you won't ever go to those dumps ever again.

Dr. Rey:

Morton's on Michigan and Wacker. Not only are the steaks super juicy, but their new bar area is amazing. Cajun rib eye is the best.

Mike:

Three people from our office responded:

Bob Chinn's - Wheeling
Pete Millers - Wheeling & Evanston
Wildfire - Lincolnshire

Raymond Blum:

Any of the Morton's restaurants. The food is always top notch with service to match.

al:

Joe's-- agree. Service is really good allthe time.
Also suggest select cut on halsted

Kimberly J. Weissman:

Joe's Steak and Seafood on Grand is my personal favorite. The steaks are flavorful, juicy and fantastic. You can never go wrong at Joe's!

harlan and caryn kahn:

Hard to pick just one... we're big fans of Gibson's, The Palm and of course, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Crab, Chicago.

Art & Carol Farber:

We love The Palm, Capitol Grille, Ruth's Chris and especially Morton's

Liz Ropele:

Morton's steak house on State Street!!! One of the best mouth-watering steaks you will ever have!!! Doesn't matter what cut you pick...cooked to perfection every time!!! I feel sorry for the vegetarian's out there who miss this experience!

Fritz Golman:

This is a difficult one, as our city has it's share of great steakhouses.

I would rate as my top pick the original Morton's on State Street in Newbury Plaza. It's a real power-dinner trip. Never had anything except the greatest steak experiences there.

Pricey, but worth every cent. Superb personal service.
