It's Valentine's Day weekend and many of you will be taking your lovely out for a nice dinner. Tonight I highlighted some of the most romantic "nooks" around the city. I'm talking about booths that will keep you secluded from the action. To see our four picks for romantic nights out, keep reading after the jump....
Opera
1301 s. Wabash
312.461.0161
www.opera-chicago.com
Sunday through Thursday: 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. (also now open for lunch!)
Friday and Saturday: 5 p.m. - midnight
Opera is a pretty unique dining experience. It's a Jerry Kleiner restaurant, complete with eclectic decor throughout. The booths were showcases are the private "vaults." They were actually used for film canister storage when the place was owned by Paramount Pictures - we're talking pre-Hollywood days here. But be sure to call in advance because those vaults fill up.
Italian Village
71 w. Monroe
312.332.7005
www.italianvillage-chicago.com
Mon-Thu 11am-12am
Fri-Sat 11am-1am
Sun 12pm-12am
Italian Village has some great grub. They have all kinds of themed booths, but they avoid the "cheese" many themed restaurant attractions fall into. Instead, you actually feel like you're dining in different sections of an Italian Village. Hence the name. Got it? Good!
Agami
4712 N Broadway St
773.506.1845
I'm new to the whole sushi craze, but Agami is pretty sweet. Even sweeter are the secluded round booths. You can either close yourself off from the rest of the world, or watch the sushi chef (say that three times fast) whip up your dins.
La Pomme Rouge
108 W. Kinzie
312.245.9555
www.lapommerouge.com
Finally, the side booths at La Pomme offer the ultimate in romance. It's a hip atmosphere, and didn't feel pretentious to me. You can really seal yourself off from the rest of the place here. Or, with curtains open, you feel like you are right in the middle of the action. Just don't be surprised if someone asks what you're doing behind those curtains. Behave yourselves, folks!
Any more suggestions for romantic nightspots would be awesome. Just leave a comment. We keep the love rolling all year long!
