Brows can make or break a face, which is why I’m serious about getting my brows trimmed and shaped on a monthly basis.
After enduring years of pain and post-waxing pimples, I finally gave up on the hot, sticky stuff and started getting my brows threaded. Never heard of threading? It’s an ancient Middle Eastern and Indian method of hair removal.
(More after the jump...)
Basically, a skilled threader uses a soft piece of cotton to individually pull out strands of pesky lil hairs and in a matter of minutes, you’re hair free! This can be done on your brows, your upper lip or your face. It sounds painful (and weird), but in my opinion, the process is a thousand times less brutal than having someone slather hot wax all over your skin. And since it’s totally natural (they’re using thread, not harsh hot waxes full of chemicals) I think it’s safer and better for your skin, too. Plus, I find that I don’t break out post-threading, as long as I wash my face immediately. And did I mention that threading can cost as little as $5 for your upper lip and $7 for brows? Try it and I’m sure you’ll never go back to waxing. Below, I’ve listed three places I’ve been to around town:
