American Gladiators came back in fantastic form last night... all of the cheese and glory I remember from my youth. As an avid watcher in the 90s there was a lot to live up to and Gladiators '08 did not disappoint. Powerball, assualt, the eliminator and then some... plus the delightful addition of water.

Though I long for the days of Viper, Turbo and Siren... I think Wolf, Toa and Hellga will soon grow on me. One thing, with Hulk Hogan co-hosting alongside Laila Ali, I'm wondering why the behemoth Brooke Hogan is not among the joust-wielding superhumans. She seems like a natural, no?
My only gripe... too much talking. I want less yapping and more butt-kicking. Not to mention the contestant/gladiator banter was painfully scripted. All that said, I'm hooked!
So what did you guys think? Will you watch again tonight? And more importantly, what do you think my gladiator name should be? I'm already putting my Halloween costume together...

You were only in Chicago for 6 months when you and I had met... (Xsport gym). We had a fun and lenghthy talk until we were rudely interupted by some portly
trainer trying to sell us some p.t. You told me of Miami and you seemed a little homesick. I believe at that time you had no on air time in Chicago. I left very hopeful for you due to you friendliness, charisma, and determination. I was jacked when I finally saw you on the boob tube! Keep it up Jackie. Great work! You did it....
