....a bad Arnold Schwarzenneger movie! Maybe this hilarious montage from "Batman & Robin" will help boost your spirits in these frigid times. Stay warm, my friends:
There's two releases of note right off the bat in the new year...plus the '07 releases that I still can't get enough of.
I didn't spot a ring on Ashlee's left finger when I met her and boyfriend Pete Wentz last Friday (and trust me, I always look), but some sources are speculating that the lovebirds may have had a pretty special holiday weekend...

American Gladiators came back in fantastic form last night... all of the cheese and glory I remember from my youth. As an avid watcher in the 90s there was a lot to live up to and Gladiators '08 did not disappoint. Powerball, assualt, the eliminator and then some... plus the delightful addition of water.
More AG ramblings after the jump...
With Sweeney Todd and Walk Hard in theatres we started to think of the funniest musical moments in movies.
This is what we came up with...
Hi, Everyone! Bahar here…
A while back I asked you guys to share your thoughts on some of the most interesting bar and restaurant bathrooms in town, and it seems as though some (ahem, all) of you forgot to reply. :( It’s okay. I forgive you… But I’m still hoping to get good viewer feedback so I can do a segment that takes you inside the best bathrooms in Chicago.

Marcus Leshock here. Director Danny Boyle ("Trainspotting," "28 Days Later") came through Chicago to promote his new movie "Sunshine," which drops on DVD today. In case you missed it, Danny was great. Here's the full interview:
Check out my full Leshock Value review of the film right after the jump....
If you haven't yet spent that 20 bucks that you got from your Great Aunt Irene for the holidays at the bar...head to the record store and spend it on one of these new releases out this week...
The weekend is almost here! Yay! I’ll be out celebrating my birthday this Saturday night--which makes planning the weekend simple--but it’s not always this easy… My biggest issue with going out in the winter is the lousy Chicago weather.

Hey Metromixers, we need your help. And fast!
We’re still working up a segment on the BEST restaurant and bar bathrooms in Chicago and need you to tell us about the more memorable bathrooms you’ve, uh, done your business in… So think back to all the dives, clubs, cafes, restaurants, etc. you’ve been to within the last year and leave us a comment!
Marcus Leshock here. On your "metromix" weekend I talked to you about the new movie "The Orphange," which is scary as all heck! It was produced by Guillermo Del Toro, who directed 2006's "Pan's Labyrinth," a movie that's become somewhat of a cult-classic. So maybe you saw "Pan's" and didn't see my interview with Guillermo. In that case, here it is:
Gargamel & the gang celebrate their 50th B-day this week.
The story got our Smurf juices flowing so we want to know if you we're a Smurf which one would you be?
Our favorite Smurf moment of all-time after the jump...
Guitar aficionado John Mayer just threw this up on his YouTube account yesterday.
He's playing Justin Timberlake's LoveStoned I Think She Knows on his electric guitar. Pretty sweet.
A promotional video for Scientology was leaked onto the "internets" today. As of right now there is still a copy of it floating on Google video. We thought we'd post it for your enjoyment. Have an Out Of This World evening!
UPDATE: The video is gone. If you missed it, you missed one heck of a show.
I just ran across an interesting article in the "India Times" speculating that Brit Brit's latest boytoy (and paparazzo) Adnan Ghalib may be influencing the pop tart to escape her crazy American life and embrace an entirely new culture…

Marcus Leshock here with a HUGE morning of surprise for movie fans. For once I mostly found myself on the Academy's side, but this year's Oscar nominations certainly raised a few eyebrows. To read the full list of nominees and a few of my thoughts, keep reading after the jump......
You read that correctly, Oscar-nominated actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in his apartment, according to a report on TMZ.com. MSNBC is reporting that Ledger was found dead in his apartment this afternoon, surrounded by pills.
Heath was in Chicago earlier this summer filming the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight." He'll play the Joker in the film, and if early reports say anything, it could be his most memorable performance yet. This comes as a pretty big shock to all of us here at "metromix." Heath led a very private life, and never seemed like a guy who would suffer this kind of fate. It's sad to say that actor Heath Ledger is dead at the young age of 28.
I've posted some YouTube vids of Heath's best moments. Watch them after the jump....
Hi all... it's Jackie here. You may or may not know, but I just got back from a trip to Israel. And I never come home empty handed! Mom and Dad got the usual touristy knick-knacks... and the roomies were gifted some last minute finds from Duty Free. But for you all, I brought back my most favorite discovery... Israeli songstress Yael Naim. She was born in France, but raised in Israel... and she sings in both English and Hebrew (and I think French, but I can't really tell). She just released a self-titled album, and her single "New Soul" has been in my head for nearly a month now.
You're welcome, and enjoy!
P.S. Fun fact for ya... "New Soul" just happens to be backing up the new ads for the Macbook Air. But if anyone asks, you heard it here first!
One of the best things about living in a pedestrian city like New York was the fashion tips I’d pick up by just walking the streets, riding the subway or even going to work.

Brows can make or break a face, which is why I’m serious about getting my brows trimmed and shaped on a monthly basis.
After enduring years of pain and post-waxing pimples, I finally gave up on the hot, sticky stuff and started getting my brows threaded. Never heard of threading? It’s an ancient Middle Eastern and Indian method of hair removal.

Yes, boys and girls... the New Kids On The Block are rumored to be reuniting. But do we likey the idea? Five teenagers "Hangin' Tough" is adorable. Five men approaching mid-life crooning about "The Right Stuff" is just plain creepy. It's like mixing cheeseballs and chocolate... it sounds like a really great idea, but the outcome would likely be subpar.
On the bright side, I've been looking for an excuse to use my heart-shaped Joey McIntyre pillow. Who was your favorite New Kid?
Marcus Leshock here with one of the funniest short films I've seen in a long time. Just a simple story about a couple of guys looking for a frame shop on Google Maps. Enjoy, but remember this message. Google Maps will eventually bring complete destruction to all mankind. Have a great day!
We found this on YouTube today, pretty amazing the time/creativity people have.
Side note: Lego's turned 50 this week.
