Chili Macs on Broadway & Briar has great chili,
and even better pizza!

Herbert

john:

Chilimac's 5 way chili is a unique restaurant that specializes in 4 differents types of chili, original cincinnati, texas hot jailhouse, vegetarian and turkey chili. but also they have a full bar including the "legendary frozen blue margaritas", all you need is try a frozen one and a 5 way chili of your choice and you will realize why all these people love chilimac's for all these years! definitely thumbs up!

Allison:

I have to say Chili Mac's Chili on Broadway is my favorite! During this time of year, I crave it and can't stop thinking about it until I get it! The service is great, too!

Anonymous:

Hands down for the best chili & atmosphere is Bishops Famous Chili in Westmont . It still has the old school charm of a "Chili Parlor" and has great tasting chili .

Julian:

Chili Mac's 5 Way Chili is by far the best Chili I have had in years. It's great tasting Bowls of chili makes you want to come back for more. Next time your around the neighborhood, make sure to check this place out.

Amanda Wierenga:

I will have to go for Lindys and Gerties of Bridgeview as well. I think the "Bridgeview" location is important to mention because as much as the chili may be the similar as other locations, there is a method to preparing it that other locations do not do and it does have a slightly different and better taste. All the locations have different owners and I think it is important to mention the owners because if you do not like the owners and the way they run the place, you will not go there for the chili regardless of how it tastes.

The new owners, Rich and Carrie, bought the Bridgeview location last year and have made many improvements, not only to the menu, but to the atmosphere as well. Therefore, you cannot say all Lindys and Gerties is the same. Try Bridgeview and try the others and you will understand what I am talking about.

Lindys and Gerties in Bridgeview - ALL THE WAY!

Teresa:

Great food, great service especially great chili! Chili Mac's 5 way chili is by far the tastiest chili in Chicago. I have had such bad experiences in other places especially the other restaurant named on this page (hint, is starts with an L). More important is that everytime I go there, I'm treated wonderfully. I recommend it!

selene forkes:

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE CHILI MAC'S! The owners are great host!

donna caminiti:

Chili Mac's chili is the best in all of chicagoland. I eat chili all the time, and out of all of the places I try, they by far exceed all else. I like to try different rest. for chili and wings, that two days out of every weekend my girlfriend and I drive to a different establishment to compare. Chili Mac's Cincinnati chili is the best of their four. Please cast my vote for them.

Donna

Chris Koenig:

When I think of Chili Mac's, I think of flowing blue margaritas, delicious Frito Pie, and great times with friends. The Veggie Chili is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

G.Handell:

Friends and I have dined numerous times at Chili Mac's and have always had a great time. The service is wonderful and the food amazing, especially the Texas chili.

MMR:

Jeez, does anyone know there are other Lindy's locations in Chicago besides the one in bridgeview?! Like the original on Archer and Western, and the one in Mt. Greenwood. Great chili though...I definitely agree! Try the chili with no beans and macaroni, and add cheese and sour cream. Yummy!

Bob Watson:

Liz Foy:

best chili in chicago??
Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview!!
(and some sweet ice cream for desert!!)

Rich Cundari:

To add to what others are saying Lindy's chili Rules. You have to check out the Chili tamale Extravaganza. 2 tamales, white corn chips, smothered in chili and topped with cheddar cheese. Also, check out the exceptional burgers. The 1/2 lb Angus beats any other I've tried. Don't miss this Chicago original or your search will be incomplete

Besides the amazing wings, Buffalo Joe's in Evanston has the best Chili around. Check it out.

Bernie Bauer:

The ONLY place in Chicagoland for Chili is Lindys-Gerdys in Bridgeview!
The new owners Rich and Carrie are real southsiders with who know what we like!

Kristina Stewart:

Lindy's and Gertie's has the best Chili in the Chicagoland area!!! (need I mention the best icecream, too!?) I went to the Bridgeview location with my family and found that the new owners had additional selections to the menu and holiday "specials".
I am not surprised that the Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview got such rav reviews...go there to taste and see that they are the BEST!!!!

I'm a chili fanatic. Lindie's and Gertie's of Bridgeview easily crushes all competition. Whether you get it with or without beans, plain or with all of the fixin's, the taste is phenominal. I'll go out of my way to make sure that it's on my way. Once you try it you'll never go anywhere else.

Will Stewart:

I suggest Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview. The chilli is fantastic with or without beans. The service is great and don't forget about the ice cream.

kiwihead:

Yeah, that 5 Way Chili is nice, but I gotta go with the majority on here so far and go with Lindy's and Gertie's. There are other Lindy's around, but the one in Bridgeview has the ice cream. You can't beat it. Check them out.

Glen and Toni Hodson:

Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview is about 45 mins away from our house, But we were told by a friend that they had GREAT chili and some great ice cream,Also very kid friendly. So we went , Now we go once every few weeks just for the chili and ice cream for the kids.. David Prete:

"THE BEST CHILI" in Chicagoland is definitely Lindy's and Gerty's in Bridgeview.A nice family run business,I bring the kids and grandkids all the time. That new owner really bends over backwards to make the customers happy!!

Carol:

At Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview, the only thing better than the chili--which is the BEST--is the staff.

Marcus:

Wow! Great comments so far! I'm just suprised we haven't gotten any about Lindy's and Gerties yet. I hear they have really good chili there.

Teresa Infante:

I love the chilli at Lindy's and Gerties of Bridgeview! It's a great place to hang out and the ice cream is pretty great too. But hey, with winter around... it's the chilli that draws me in.

LINDA AND GERTIE'S OF BRIDGIEVIEW IS CLEAN, FUN PLACE TO VISIT. OH!DID I MENTION;BEST CHILI AROUND TOWN.

It is not surprising to see others talking up Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview. Always the best around in my book!

Dedee Degante:

I love Lindy's & Gertie's of Bridgeview's chili dogs. They are awsome. Along with there variety of ice cream flavors that always hit the spot.

Amanda Schlomas:

The best place to get Chili in the Chicago land area is definitely Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview. Their chili is delicious and you can get it a variety of ways, with or without beans, cheese, onions, sour cream, whatever you like. You can also get turkey chili for those that would prefer to have that. You can have the chili served in a number of creative ways, on tamale's, nachos, spaghetti, hotdogs - to name a few. Top it off with one of their delicious (and gigantic) ice cream creations and you won't be dissapointed. If you haven't already, you should definitely stop by at Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview at 7208 W. 87th Street.

Dee Houdek:

I was first introduced to Lindy's chili back in the early 1990's at what I believe is the original location at 65th and Archer/Western. I did not believe it could get better than that but now that there is a Lindy's much closer to me in Bridgeview and there is no contest as to where I go for the best Chili in the Chicagoland area. Everyone should try the Lindy's in Bridgeview.

Joanne:

The best chili is at Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview. We have since moved away from the Chicago area, but still stop in on our visits back home. Always a favorite food for us.

Colin Hitman:

Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgiew, IL has the best chili in Chicago. It's chili that everyone would like, whether you like spicey chili, or not spicey chili, whether you like chili with beans or without beans or chili mac or chili cavatelli(spagetti), they have it all. Even if you like turkey chili they have it. I stopped into Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview one day and ordered a bowl of chili(I like mine with no beans onions and cheese)and when I got done eating it I had to order me a bowl of chili to take home for later, it was so good. As matter of fact 2 days later I had a craving for chili from Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview, so I went back and order me a 5 lbs. bucket to have at home to eat whenever I got the craveing. Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview chili is by far the best chili I have ever eat in chicago. The only problem I have when I go to Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview is after I eat a bowl of there delicuis chili I have to oder some of there smooth and creamy ice cream....

Rosalie Watrobka:

The best chili in Chicago (and the world for that matter) is Lindy's and Gerties of Bridgeview. The menu choices are extensive and each time a I try a new one it is better than the first. Besides you can match the chili with all the other great menu choices. Not to mention the spectacular ice cream creations. It is a great place. Bring the entire family cause there is something for everyone.

Ken Kaergard:

Three words --- BEST CHILI EVER.

Go to Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview.

Kathy Sturgeon:

For excellent chili try Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview. Their chili is to die for and if you are feeling like something to go with your chili they have tons of other items that are equally as good. I usually like to end my meal with one of the ice cream creations. Service is excellent too, which I find to be almost as important as the food. You will not be disappointed at all.

Nanette B. Stephens:

When I have a taste for chili and want some that is totally awesome, I go to Lindy’s and Gertie’s of Bridgeview. Not only is their chili really awesome, the atmosphere is great for the whole family. You gotta go and give them a try.

I'm not normally a chili guy but.... I went to the Lindy's and Gerties on 87th street in Bridgeview for the first time last winter to meet some friends for lunch. Pedestrian that I am, I decided to go for a footlong hot dog, fries and ice cream after. My friends insisted I try the chili. So I did. This stuff is good. It encouraged me to try it at other place I've gone to since then and as a reslut I'm still not a chili guy but I would (and have often) gone out of my way for Lindy's chili. While, by no means a chili expert, for my tastes this is the best stuff I've ever had.

Barry Kreisler:

My girl friend and I a real chili lovers. When we tried the chili at Lindy's and Gertie's of Bridgeview, we knew we had found the best that chili can be. And the ice cream sundae which followed made the meal simply perfect. You owe it to yourself to try the chil and if your diet casn take it or it's a special occasion, the chile/sundae combination is to die for!

Jessica Tanis:

Lindies and Gerties of Bridgeview definitely has the best chili. You can get the chili on hot dogs, pasta, and nachos too. The restaurant doesn't just boast their chili, but with the new owners, you can get other great food off the improved menu as well. I love the innovative Halloween and other seasonal ice cream choices. I look forward to going to Lindies and Gerties because of the constant changes to the menu.
