Chilimac's 5 way chili is a unique restaurant that specializes in 4 differents types of chili, original cincinnati, texas hot jailhouse, vegetarian and turkey chili. but also they have a full bar including the "legendary frozen blue margaritas", all you need is try a frozen one and a 5 way chili of your choice and you will realize why all these people love chilimac's for all these years! definitely thumbs up!

Hands down for the best chili & atmosphere is Bishops Famous Chili in Westmont . It still has the old school charm of a "Chili Parlor" and has great tasting chili .

I will have to go for Lindys and Gerties of Bridgeview as well. I think the "Bridgeview" location is important to mention because as much as the chili may be the similar as other locations, there is a method to preparing it that other locations do not do and it does have a slightly different and better taste. All the locations have different owners and I think it is important to mention the owners because if you do not like the owners and the way they run the place, you will not go there for the chili regardless of how it tastes.
The new owners, Rich and Carrie, bought the Bridgeview location last year and have made many improvements, not only to the menu, but to the atmosphere as well. Therefore, you cannot say all Lindys and Gerties is the same. Try Bridgeview and try the others and you will understand what I am talking about.
Lindys and Gerties in Bridgeview - ALL THE WAY!

Great food, great service especially great chili! Chili Mac's 5 way chili is by far the tastiest chili in Chicago. I have had such bad experiences in other places especially the other restaurant named on this page (hint, is starts with an L). More important is that everytime I go there, I'm treated wonderfully. I recommend it!

Chili Mac's chili is the best in all of chicagoland. I eat chili all the time, and out of all of the places I try, they by far exceed all else. I like to try different rest. for chili and wings, that two days out of every weekend my girlfriend and I drive to a different establishment to compare. Chili Mac's Cincinnati chili is the best of their four. Please cast my vote for them.

When I think of Chili Mac's, I think of flowing blue margaritas, delicious Frito Pie, and great times with friends. The Veggie Chili is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Jeez, does anyone know there are other Lindy's locations in Chicago besides the one in bridgeview?! Like the original on Archer and Western, and the one in Mt. Greenwood. Great chili though...I definitely agree! Try the chili with no beans and macaroni, and add cheese and sour cream. Yummy!

To add to what others are saying Lindy's chili Rules. You have to check out the Chili tamale Extravaganza. 2 tamales, white corn chips, smothered in chili and topped with cheddar cheese. Also, check out the exceptional burgers. The 1/2 lb Angus beats any other I've tried. Don't miss this Chicago original or your search will be incomplete

The best place to get Chili in the Chicago land area is definitely Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview. Their chili is delicious and you can get it a variety of ways, with or without beans, cheese, onions, sour cream, whatever you like. You can also get turkey chili for those that would prefer to have that. You can have the chili served in a number of creative ways, on tamale's, nachos, spaghetti, hotdogs - to name a few. Top it off with one of their delicious (and gigantic) ice cream creations and you won't be dissapointed. If you haven't already, you should definitely stop by at Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview at 7208 W. 87th Street.

I was first introduced to Lindy's chili back in the early 1990's at what I believe is the original location at 65th and Archer/Western. I did not believe it could get better than that but now that there is a Lindy's much closer to me in Bridgeview and there is no contest as to where I go for the best Chili in the Chicagoland area. Everyone should try the Lindy's in Bridgeview.

Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgiew, IL has the best chili in Chicago. It's chili that everyone would like, whether you like spicey chili, or not spicey chili, whether you like chili with beans or without beans or chili mac or chili cavatelli(spagetti), they have it all. Even if you like turkey chili they have it. I stopped into Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview one day and ordered a bowl of chili(I like mine with no beans onions and cheese)and when I got done eating it I had to order me a bowl of chili to take home for later, it was so good. As matter of fact 2 days later I had a craving for chili from Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview, so I went back and order me a 5 lbs. bucket to have at home to eat whenever I got the craveing. Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview chili is by far the best chili I have ever eat in chicago. The only problem I have when I go to Lindy's & Gertie's in Bridgeview is after I eat a bowl of there delicuis chili I have to oder some of there smooth and creamy ice cream....

Besides you can match the chili with all the other great menu choices. Not to mention the spectacular ice cream creations. It is a great place. Bring the entire family cause there is something for everyone.

For excellent chili try Lindy's and Gertie's in Bridgeview. Their chili is to die for and if you are feeling like something to go with your chili they have tons of other items that are equally as good. I usually like to end my meal with one of the ice cream creations. Service is excellent too, which I find to be almost as important as the food. You will not be disappointed at all.

I'm not normally a chili guy but.... I went to the Lindy's and Gerties on 87th street in Bridgeview for the first time last winter to meet some friends for lunch. Pedestrian that I am, I decided to go for a footlong hot dog, fries and ice cream after. My friends insisted I try the chili. So I did. This stuff is good. It encouraged me to try it at other place I've gone to since then and as a reslut I'm still not a chili guy but I would (and have often) gone out of my way for Lindy's chili. While, by no means a chili expert, for my tastes this is the best stuff I've ever had.

Lindies and Gerties of Bridgeview definitely has the best chili. You can get the chili on hot dogs, pasta, and nachos too. The restaurant doesn't just boast their chili, but with the new owners, you can get other great food off the improved menu as well. I love the innovative Halloween and other seasonal ice cream choices. I look forward to going to Lindies and Gerties because of the constant changes to the menu.
