Date: Saturday, January 16, 2010
Time: 8:00 AM
Location: Chicago
The Chicago Cares Celebration of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrates Dr. King's life and legacy through hands-on volunteer service projects. You'll be able to spend a day sharing smiles with seniors, painting murals and creating mosaics, organizing school libraries, engaging children in multicultural activities, or providing positive social interaction for adults with developmental disabilities. Celebration of Service is a great way to spend the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday reflecting on Dr. King's message and making an impact that you can see and feel.
Celebration of service is from 8AM - 3:30PM. Volunteers will meet at a kickoff location, check in, and hear some inspirational remarks from a keynote speaker before dispersing via bus to complete projects around the city.
Volunteer solo and meet new friends OR recruit a team to be inspired and be of service as we address Chicago's most pressing needs. Visit www.chicagocares.org to learn more and register a team!
