HoperaWorld's Chicago premiere of "A Fallen Hero"

The HoperaWorld Chicago premiere of "A Fallen Hero" (a hip hop opera), plays November 12-15th at the DuSable Museum of African American History, located at 740 E 56th Pl. Founded in 2008, the HoperaWorld company has performed and presented workshops at The Chopin Theater, DuSable Museum of African American History, The Chatham Business Association, Blacks In Green Association, Columbia College Chicago, Kennedy King College and the World Premiere performances at The Diana Reese Performing Arts Center, in Cleveland. For two years, Roosevelt University has presented the HOPERA Summer Music program for high school students.

"A Fallen Hero" is a full-length Hip Hop Opera production with original music by, Adrian Dunn & Bobby Burns. This moving story set in Chicago follows the life of young Obadiah King and his quest to find himself. As Obadiah tries to manage the difficult terrain of inner-city Chicago, he is faced with many hurdles in reaching his goal of becoming a successful journalist for the New York Times. He finds that his community of friends is the strongest bond that he has to succeed in life. This dynamic cast of 10 operatic and pop vocalists, dancers and rappers present Obadiah's ability to triumph over loss, rejection and even death.
