The Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the world's only year-round presenter of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts, kicks off its 20th Anniversary season with Global Rhythms, featuring the Chicago debut of Washington D.C.'s Step Afrika!. Celebrating the African-American art form of stepping, Step Afrika! will be joined by CHRP's resident ensemble BAM!, scholarship students from CHRP's Rhythm World summer festival and different special guests each evening, including the South Shore Drill Team, Trinity Irish Dance Company and students from Alphonsus Academy for the Arts and Mayfair Academy.
In conjunction with Global Rhythms and in the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, CHRP offers the Thanks 4 Giving program. When purchasing tickets, patrons receive a 10 percent discount by mentioning one of as many as 50 participating Chicago-area nonprofit organizations, and CHRP shares 50 percent of the revenue from that sale with the selected organization.
