Anxiety is part of the normal human condition and is on the rise in our fast-paced culture. It's a pattern that historically persists: as the economy plummets, anxiety soars.

When anxiety becomes an excessive irrational dread of everyday situations, it has become a disabling disorder. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (MIMH), there are five major types of anxiety disorders: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Social Phobia (or Social Anxiety Disorder).
