The Gluten Free Cooking Expo is proud to announce the "Gluten-Free Kids Cupcake Club" at the Doubletree Hotel Chicago, 1909 Spring Road, Oakbrook, Ill., 60523.
A special session for children at the Gluten Free Cooking Expo.
The children will hear acclaimed gluten-free author Jax Peters Lowell read her book "No More Cupcakes and Tummy Aches" and then they will decorate gluten-free cupcakes created by Swirlz Cupcakes of Chicago.
After the cupcakes are decorated, attending families are welcome to browse the Gluten Free Cooking Expo's Vendor Fair. Numerous gluten-free products will be available for viewing, tasting and purchasing. A portion of Expo proceeds will benefit the new Gluten Intolerance Group of Greater Chicago.
Every day more Americans are diagnosed with Celiac Disease and Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1 in 133 Americans have Celiac Disease and 1 in 150 children have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. A gluten-free diet, one that is free of wheat, barley and rye, is essential for those with Celiac Disease, and many families with autistic children are finding that a gluten-free diet can reduce the autistic symptoms of their children.
