Disgraced celebrity foreclosure

RezkoWilmette.jpg

You hate to see a good house tainted by its owner's antics, but it looks like that's what may have happened to the home of former Blagojevich fundraiser Tony Rezko.

His $5.9 million-dollar, 8,500 square foot Wilmette estate went on the auction block this morning and was sold to the lowest - and only - bidder, Bank of America for $2.8 million. So, was it the stench of political scandal that kept this place from selling? More likely, it was the 10% cash downpayment required at the time of winning.

Rezko's next residence is still tbd, but he currently resides in presumably far less comfortable digs in federal custody.
