Some "Good" Housing News ...

There's some positive news to report in the Illinois real estate market. The Illinois Association of Realtors is reporting an increase in March home sales. The group also says the median price of a home in Illinois increased for the month.

According to the group, home sales increased 35.5% in March compared with February. It was the first monthly increase since last June.

As for the median price in the state, March 2009 was $149,995. That's 6.6% higher than February ($140,700).

While this doesn't mean housing is back, it's one more indication that the worst may be behind us.

What are you planning to do this Summer? Buy a home? Sell a home? Take advantage of the first-time homeowner tax credit? Renovate your current home? Nothing?
