How often do you change your pillow? It's probably not something you think about too much. But every year, millions of pillows are tossed into landfills, taking up lots of space and taking a lot of time to break down. Something to keep in mind the next time you replace your pillow and find yourself with one to toss. There's really no good way to throw an old pillow out, but there are plenty of ways to repurpose them.
Check out how after the jump...
1- Give it to Fido. If you have a dog (or cat, or ferrett or lizard for that matter), give him your hand-me-downs. Add some extra padding to his bed with your old pillow. It'll also save you having to replace his bed every couple years.
2- Pillow fight! Not really. But think of all that stuffing flying in the air - that's good stuff for crafty people! Use it as filling for other pillows that need a little plumping or for crafy projects like making new throw pillows or filling a quilt.
3- Protect your breakables. Save old pillows to use for packaging when you decide to move or if you're shipping something delicate. Your valuables will thank you.
