Already fretting about your monthly heating bills? If so, you might be in for a very loooong winter...but there is something you can do about it (and no, I don't mean throwing the bills away and pretending you never got them...that could get you into trouble.)
The number one way to save money on your heating bills is to keep the heat in your home - how, you ask? Insulation!
Look to your attic first - insulating your attic is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to keep heat from escaping your house. Think about how you dress before you head out into the winter cold - you probably wear a hat, right? Because you know that you lose a good amount of your body heat if your head's not covered. Well, same thing with your house. Heat rises, therefore, if your attic isn't insulated that heat is escaping from the top of your home. Making your heating system work harder - and costing you more money.
