Home not selling? Try the rental market.

It's no secret that homes aren't exactly flying off the market these days. But many people are forced to relocate anyway, because of job or life changes. If you're one of these people, you might find some temporary relief in the rental market.

Empty homes are difficult to sell anyway and add to that the cost of heating and maintaining an empty home through a cold winter - especially if you've moved a long distance - and the costs of keeping that house on the market might not be worth it right now. However, if you can find a renter to cover most or all of your mortgage, assessments and utilites then you could be in good shape until the market rebounds enough to sell without losing your shirt.
