Painless Design

If the rising cost of gas and groceries is bringing you down and you find yourself sacrificing your home's style to pinch a penny - this blog's for you. Check out five easy ways to up the hip factor in your home for less than the price of filling up your compact's gas tank!

1- Add a cool piece of art to the room. Adding just one new piece and nixing the out-of-date or out-of-use items can give the room a new feel.
2 - Let there be (trendy) light! Hit the discount stores and find a pair of interesting lamps to make your room more like an "after" than a "before."
3 - Don't let time get away from you...you may have all of the digital time you need on your cable box or microwave face, but that's no reason not to go classic with an analog wall clock. You can find perfectly affordable - and attractive - pieces at department stores, discount stores and consignment shops!
4- Head into adulthood...if your bedroom still looks like your college dorm room, but it's been a decade since you heard "Pomp and Circumstance" then it's time to re-think your boudoir surroundings! No headboard is a no-no if you're over the age of 22.
5- Don't be afraid to add trendy pieces to your classic home. Low cost decorative elements like window film may tire you after a year, but at less than $30 a pop you won't shed a tear when it's time to toss it!
